Water and nothing else: no bank, no horizon, no sky beyond one peach reflection in the top corner. Crimson and magenta lilies open across rafts of green pads, smaller violet ones sit further back, and the pond runs blue to turquoise between them. Monet painted it at Giverny in his mid-seventies.
With no edges and no landmarks, this is a long sort through blue and green, the flowers the only fixed points in it. Finished size 68 x 51cm.
Impressionist style with large areas of similar blue-green tones and soft indistinct edges makes differentiation difficult.
