Rosalind Wise packed flowers edge to edge with no background at all — a sunflower in the top corner, blue delphinium spires, orange poppies, pink phlox, white daisies, foxgloves, tulips, dahlias and red carnations. The original canvas is nearly seven feet tall and arranged by season, spring blooms circling the centre and late summer pushed out to the edges.
A thousand pieces with no sky, no horizon and no gaps — sort by petal shape as much as by colour, because every colour recurs. Finished size 50.8 x 63.5cm
Extremely dense field of flowers covering the entire image with no clear focal point, repetitive shapes, and overwhelming colour variety.
