J.E.H. MacDonald (Canadian, 1873–1932) Falls, Montreal River, 1920 J.E.H. MacDonald, a member of The Group of Seven, employed a bright palette to create this energetic landscape. The rushing water weaving among rugged rocks and evergreens directs our gaze to the autumn colours of the hillside beyond. His scene is so inviting, you just might sense the cool air and the sound of the river while piecing together this jigsaw puzzle.
