The tree stands in the middle in gold and brown, and every branch curls away from the trunk into a tight spiral, filling the whole panel until there is barely any sky left. A single black bird sits among them, quite still.
On the left a woman in a robe of triangles turns her head in profile, and on the right a couple stand locked in an embrace, his robe covered in squares, hers in circles and flowers. Gustav Klimt at his most golden!
The intricate swirling patterns and repeating gold-brown tones throughout the tree branches make it difficult to distinguish individual sections.
