If you grew up with Pokémon, this puzzle is going to bring all the feelings rushing back. Ravensburger's Pokémon Collector's Edition is a gorgeous 1000-piece scene set around a stunning coastal bay, packed with some of the most recognisable water and dual-type Pokémon from the franchise.
The image is an absolute feast — there's Pikachu on the jetty, Slowpoke lazily drifting in the shallows, Gyarados rearing up in the water, and a lighthouse in the distance with what looks like Noctowl perched on top. Flying types wheel overhead while Psyduck rows a little boat and Chansey splashes nearby. It's chaotic in the best possible way.
What makes this one particularly satisfying to build is how the scene is divided into very distinct zones — the rocky shoreline, the turquoise bay, the mountain backdrop, and the wide dramatic sky. Each section has its own colour palette which gives you a natural way to tackle it section by section. That said, the water area has some lovely subtle tone shifts that'll keep you on your toes.
At 70 x 50cm when complete, it's a really generous size and would look brilliant framed on a wall — ideal for any Pokémon fan's room. A great gift for a fan of any age, or a treat for yourself if you fancy a build that's equal parts nostalgic and genuinely beautiful to look at.
The image has strong colour zones — shoreline, sea, mountains and sky — that aid sorting, but the detailed water area and large cast of similarly-styled cartoon characters create genuine challenge in places.
