Look up through the almond branches and there is nothing but blossom and blue. Van Gogh has painted the sky a flat turquoise and set the white flowers hard against it, every twig crossing another, so the whole picture presses right up to the edge of the frame with no horizon anywhere.
It is the very start of spring, the blossom out before a single leaf has shown, and standing under it you would be looking straight up into that blue.
Large areas of similar turquoise blue with delicate branching patterns and small white blossoms make sorting challenging.
