Red House and Yellow Sleigh by Lawren S. Harris – 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

An orange-red brick house with green shutters and a columned porch stands behind a yellow picket fence, snow banked up on its steps, while a yellow sleigh pulled by a dark horse crosses the foreground. Lawren Harris, a founder of the Group of Seven, laid snow-loaded branches right across the front of the picture and put long blue shadows on the ground.

Those branches are white on white and the shadowed snow shifts only in tone, which is where most of the time goes. Finished size 68.6 x 50.8cm.
