Flat black-outlined flowers in red, turquoise and magenta pile up across a violet meadow, with a drift of white and pale blue dots running through the middle and slim dark tree trunks rising out of it. Darlene Kulig painted this in 2017 after a trip to Vienna; a red-roofed village with a church spire sits along the horizon under a band of yellow sky.
The blooms are bold and easy to group, but the dotted drift and the violet ground behind it are hundreds of near-identical specks. Finished size 51 x 68cm.
Rich colour variety with distinct bold shapes and patterns provides good differentiation despite the busy composition.
Vibrant stylised garden with bold abstract flowers and distant buildings
