A red tractor sits in the middle of a snowy farmyard, a Christmas wreath hung on its front, while geese, chickens and a Highland cow go about their business around it. Snow-covered hills roll away in the background past dry-stone walls, bare trees and a cluster of farm buildings. A red squirrel leaps through the upper branches on the left.
The border is where Lucy Grossmith really packs things in — blackbirds, bullfinches, song thrushes and robins perch among holly sprigs, red berries and decorative foliage. It gives the image a folk-art quality, somewhere between a Christmas card and a nature illustration.
At 1000 pieces, this is a solid build rather than a punishing one. The snowy hillside in the upper half is the only area that might slow you down — the foreground birds and the tractor give you plenty of anchor points to work from first. A good one for the festive season.
The snowy upper hillside has limited colour variation, but the detailed foreground birds, red tractor and decorative foliage border provide strong anchor points throughout the build.
