Warm Winter's Day - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Cobble Hill)

A red Adirondack chair sits half-buried in snow, and every inch of it has been claimed by birds. A blue jay and cardinal share the armrest, a downy woodpecker clings to the back, chickadees hop along the seat, and a nuthatch works its way down one leg. A little pine wreath with tartan ribbon is tucked into the corner, and below it all a golden retriever puppy has flopped down in the snow to watch.

It's a busy one to build. Snow covers most of the chair in soft blues and whites, so the real work is in sorting all those birds (cardinal red, jay blue, sparrow brown) against the wintry background. The puppy's face gives you a nice easy anchor to start from.

Good one for anyone who likes a garden bird count, or fancies a Christmas puzzle that isn't just baubles and Santa.
