The Colosseum – 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Trefl)

The sky over Rome has turned pink and blue, and the Colosseum takes the light full on the face, tier after tier of arches going warm gold with the shadowed openings behind them almost black. Scaffolding clings to one flank of it, and the far side stands open where the outer wall has long gone.

An old olive tree leans out into the foreground with its trunk twisted round on itself, cypresses stand in a line beyond, and the grass runs down damp and green.
