Come up the slope on a bright spring morning and the whole bank is tulips, scarlet and orange right down to the water's edge, with the grass thick and green underneath them. A plane tree leans out over the slope with its new leaves just open, holding back the sky like a parasol.
Across the lake the mountains still have their snow on, and somebody has planted the poplars exactly where the light comes through!
Large areas of green foliage are tricky but distinct flower beds and lake horizon provide helpful orientation cues.
