Among Birches by Wolf Kahn – 500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

Birch trunks in white and cream stand in close vertical ranks against violet, purple and acid-yellow leaf, with an orange-roofed barn just visible between them at the lower right. Wolf Kahn worked in loose scratchy strokes and let the trunk colour bleed into the foliage, so the grove reads as much as pattern as place.

Almost every piece is a vertical stripe and that barn roof is the only real landmark, which makes it hard going for 500. Finished size 50.8 x 50.8cm.
