The Dirty Spoon Cafe by Winfred Rembert – 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

A juke joint packed wall to wall — a saxophone and drum kit in one corner, a barman in a red dinner jacket, couples dancing close in scarlet, cobalt and orange, hand-lettered signs overhead reading Ace Hi Wine, Jax Ale and Colored Only. Winfred Rembert tooled and dyed the scene into leather from memory of the Georgia of his youth, segregation signage and all.

Each figure is drawn individually, but whole districts of the puzzle are one flat red or blue and the ground behind them is black. Finished size 68 x 51cm.
