Harriet Tubman by William H. Johnson – 500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

Harriet Tubman stands in a blue coat over a red-and-white striped skirt, an orange apron with a small gold cross, a yellow headscarf, one hand closed round a rifle. William H. Johnson painted her around 1945 for his Fighters for Freedom series in flat folk-art colour — two orange suns on opposite horizons, a gold star in a wedge of night sky, a small blue cabin, and a second portrait of her in a green shawl set into the right-hand side.

The blocks of colour are large and clean, which makes this an approachable 500. Finished size 61 x 46cm.
