Moving Day on the Farm by Grandma Moses – 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

A white clapboard farmhouse under two tall trees, with a whole neighbourhood at work around it — men shouldering barrels and baskets, a rocking chair out on the grass, loaded horse wagons on the road, a crate of hens set down by the path, a woman in red among the dark coats. Grandma Moses painted farm scenes like this from memory, in the flat folk style she took up in her late seventies.

The figures are small and busy, but the green field and the pale sky take up most of the board with very little in them. Finished size 63.5 x 50.8cm.
