A great yellow disc holds the top left, spiked all over with black darts, and from it a green and crimson band curves away like something turning in mid-air. A pink shape drifts off to the right, a staircase in lilac and white climbs out of nowhere, and an orange circle sits heavily beneath it all.
Kandinsky sets the whole thing on soft mushroom and cream, then hangs three black rings up in the corner like punctuation. Long dark curves sweep underneath and carry everything along.
Abstract shapes with overlapping colours and no recognisable objects make spatial orientation and piece placement quite difficult.
