A great curve swings through the middle of the canvas and everything else takes its lead from it — a green crescent riding along the top, a red half-circle, an orange disc, and long black lines drawn like whips across the pale ground.
Up in the left corner a black starburst sits over a lemon-yellow circle, three plain black rings hang on the right, and a pink coiled thing squeezes in beside them. Kandinsky lets the shapes get on with it, and they behave like music.
Abstract forms with overlapping organic shapes and varied colours create ambiguous boundaries that are difficult to resolve without reference to the box image.
