A pictorial map of Ireland from 1935, green with a pink-tinted Ulster, covered in hundreds of tiny drawings — Viking longships and steamers out in the sea, round towers, castles, lighthouses, wolfhounds and cattle inland, and portrait heads of Wilde, Joyce, Yeats and O'Connell ranked around the edges. A Celtic knotwork border in green, gold and red frames the whole thing, with St Patrick in the bottom corner.

The detail is fine enough that most pieces carry a name or a face; the plain cream margin outside the border is the part that slows you down. Finished size 45.7 x 61cm
