One large mandala holds the centre — gold petals around rings of blue and turquoise webbing — with eighteen smaller ones floating around it on a deep blue field: coral red, lavender, sage green, sky blue, one ringed in every colour there is. Paul Heussenstamm has painted mandalas for decades, and this square is finished with a gold and beaded border.
Every circle is radially symmetrical, so a piece from one quadrant looks much like a piece from another, and the plain blue between them is where the real work sits. Finished size 63.5 x 63.5cm.
Intricate repeating geometric patterns within each mandala circle and similar decorative motifs make distinguishing individual pieces difficult.
