A dozen sunflowers crowd into a plain earthenware pot on a yellow table, and no two of them are having the same day. Some are wide open with dark seeded centres, some have curled and gone shaggy at the edges, and one has drooped right over the rim as though it has had enough.
The wall behind is a soft green-blue that lets all that yellow do the talking. Vincent signed the pot itself!
Predominantly yellow and ochre palette with thick impasto brushwork creates moderate challenge distinguishing similarly-toned pieces.
