The carriage horses are out on the cobbles in Gent and the driver in his straw boater has one hand on the reins, easing them round in front of the tall old houses. A second carriage waits behind, red spokes gleaming, its horse standing patiently at the kerb.
The gables step up in carved stone and red brick above the shopfronts, tram wires cross the blue sky, and a basket of pink flowers hangs from the lamppost on the corner.
Well-defined architectural details and distinct building facades provide good visual anchors, though the cobblestone street area is fairly uniform.
