Stand in the middle of Times Square, tip your head right back, and this is what you get. The towers lean in from all four sides, hung top to bottom with billboards and screens, and the traffic lights swing on their wires overhead.
Between them all there is one narrow slice of sky, pale blue with a few clouds drifting over, quietly getting on with its day while everything below it shouts!
The dramatic upward perspective creates converging lines with colourful billboards and signage providing many visual cues, but the large bright sky area in the centre is featureless and challenging.
