There is something so satisfying about a Christmas puzzle that actually feels like Christmas — and Christmas Town by Ravensburger absolutely delivers. This charming winter village scene is absolutely packed with festive detail: a bandstand with carol singers, a Christmas tree shop tucked into the snowy hillside, a toy shop, a bakery, and dozens of townspeople going about their holiday errands. Even a red Royal Mail-style van makes an appearance.
The artwork has that lovely folk art quality — slightly naive, wonderfully warm, and full of little moments to discover as you sort through the pieces. The deep navy night sky dotted with stars frames the whole scene beautifully, making it feel like a proper Christmas card come to life.
It is the sort of puzzle you will want to leave on the table right through December. 1000 pieces, so satisfying without being overwhelming — ideal for an evening in with a mince pie and a good film on in the background.
The scene is rich with fine detail and many small figures, but the strong colour variation between buildings, snow, and the dark night sky provides good visual anchors throughout.
