A page from an Egyptian funerary papyrus, painted the way they were three thousand years ago. The dead man and his wife stand at the left with their hands raised, jackal-headed Anubis works at the scales in the middle, and Osiris sits enthroned on the right in green with the crook and flail. Columns of hieroglyphs fill every gap.
Aged papyrus in a narrow band of ochre and cream with fine painted detail over it. Finished size 69 x 48cm.
The papyrus ground is one flat ochre across the whole sheet, with only small painted figures on it.
