Everyone else has gone to bed, and the lake belongs to the night shift. A barn owl sweeps across a crescent moon, bats skim the water, a frog keeps watch from a lily pad, and down at the bank a fox stops to look while a badger and a hedgehog go about their rounds. Up on the hill, one orange tent is still glowing. Is somebody awake in there, listening to all this?
Lee Foster-Wilson paints it in deep blues, pinks and purples, with moths, fireflies and night flowers crowding in from every edge. Finished size 49 x 68cm.
Dense foliage and flowers in close blues and purples right across the picture, with a smooth pink lake and sky in the middle
