What is left of the Forum on a bright day, which is a great deal more than you expect. The columns of the Temple of Saturn stand up on the right still carrying their entablature, broken capitals and blocks lie about in the grass where they fell, and the domes and roofs of the modern city show through the gaps behind.
Warm stone in a narrow range of creams and ochres against a hard blue sky. Finished size 69 x 48cm.
A lot of similar weathered stone, with the sky and the grass giving you clean edges to work to.
