Frawgge Mfrg. Co. by Edward Gorey – 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

In a drawing room papered top to bottom in a small yellow-green motif, the founder of the Frawgge Manufacturing Company glowers from a gilt frame in top hat and fur-collared coat, his factory smoking behind him. Edward Gorey fills the room beneath: teacups spilled across the floor, a crocodile draped over the peach settee, a frog on the tea tray, bearded men in tweed talking past one another — and out through the tall window, on the balustraded lawn, things have clearly gone badly wrong.

The wallpaper covers a third of the sheet in one repeating motif with no landmarks, so it is best left until the furniture and figures are in. Finished size 68.5 x 50.8cm.
