Mike Wilks's weather factory: a great dome painted in wedges of rainbow, lightning, snowfall, sunburst and starry black, an orange tram numbered 759 crossing a blue girder bridge beneath it, and below that a hall of white columns, red and green locomotives, pipework and gantries with top-hatted figures the size of a fingernail.
The dome panels make an easy start; the machinery underneath is dense with repeated arches and rivets. Finished size 73.6 x 50.8cm.
Immensely detailed architectural interior packed with tiny objects, machinery, and intricate structural elements throughout.
Fantastical Grand Hall with Weather Machines
