She has turned to look back over her shoulder, out of a background of pure black, and caught you looking. Her lips are just parted as though she was about to say something and thought better of it, and there is a single pearl at her ear catching the light.
The turban is blue at the front with a long fall of yellow silk down her back, and her jacket is the same warm ochre with a soft white collar turned over it.

Dark uniform background is simple, but the subtle tonal variations in skin, fabric, and the turban require careful attention. Limited colour palette but fine detail in the face.
