Everyone on this catwalk is convinced they are the height of style. The box shows the swinging sixties mid-show — hems short, hair sky-high, flashbulbs popping at the back of the room and a critic in the front row already scribbling “TOO SHORT!” in his notebook. What you build is the same scene as it looks today, once those outfits have had sixty years to age.
Whether modern fashion has grown up or lost the plot entirely is rather the question. Paul Gibbs packs the room with faces, and between the crowd and that flat pink runway the middle stretch is the slow part. Finished size 69 x 49cm.
A crowded cartoon scene with dozens of similarly drawn faces, and a large flat pink runway that offers very few landmarks.
