Paris from up among the chimney pots at the end of the day, with the sky gone pink and gold over a mile of grey zinc roofs. Dormer windows, spires and a hundred chimney stacks run away towards the horizon, and out on the right the Eiffel Tower stands dark against the last of the light.
Somewhere below all those roofs the evening is starting. Up here it is quiet, and the whole city is laid out for you!
