Astronaut by David Krovblit – 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

David Krovblit fills the visor of an old silver space helmet with pink orchids, white dogwood and blue butterflies, then packs the space around it with cut-out natural history: hummingbirds, bee-eaters, dragonflies, moths, lilies, a red heart and a drip of magenta paint in the corner.

The helmet and its bolted collar are the only plain surfaces here; the collage around them has no repeating pattern to lean on. Finished size 63.5 x 63.5cm.
