Butterfly Rose Window by David Cohen - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

David Cohen builds a stained-glass rose window out of insects: a yellow star at the centre, spokes of green caterpillars and chrysalides, and a ring of roundels each holding a butterfly or moth — a monarch, a tortoiseshell, a swallowtail, a russet cecropia with eyespots. Ferns fill the corners on yellow glass, with black leading between every pane.

Each butterfly is its own landmark, but the crackled blue and red glass between them runs on for long stretches. Finished size 50.8 x 63.5cm.
