The light has gone gold over the lake and the lamps are already on in the log cabin, warm behind every window. A rowing boat is tied at the little jetty, the old blue pickup is parked up on the grass, and two chairs sit facing the fire pit with nobody in them yet.
A bird comes gliding in low over the water with its wings right out, and the whole cabin lies upside down in the reflection. Kim Norlien has signed the painting down among the reeds.
The panoramic format with large areas of dark forest, reflective water, and warm sunset tones blending together makes differentiating pieces quite challenging across the wide scene.
