A woman in a peacock mask standing on the water steps with the canal running away behind her under a huge low moon. The mask is worked in teal and gold with feathers going up over her head, there are jewels along the cheekbone, and her hair comes down over a cloak in the same colours. Everything behind is soft and lit and out of focus.
The mask carries almost all the detail, with the canal behind it deliberately soft. Finished size 64 x 64cm.
