Blossom season, and she has walked out into the shallows to see it properly. Her kimono is embroidered within an inch of its life, all peonies and waves and gold thread, and it trails behind her in the water while the petals come down. Red torii gates curve away into the distance with paper lanterns strung between them, a pagoda sits back in the branches, and the koi have come up to see what is going on.
The kimono is a puzzle in its own right, every panel a different pattern. Finished size 48 x 69cm.
Heavy pink blossom filling the upper half, offset by the strongly patterned kimono and the run of red gates.
