Melody by Olga Suvorova – 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

A dark-haired woman in a turquoise gown holds a painted fan, flanked by a figure in gold brocade with a blue tit perched on one finger and another in a coral coat and tricorn hat playing a flute. Russian painter Olga Suvorova loaded the 2018 canvas with texture — a jewelled bodice, gold embroidery, cream and pink roses, lilies, a china bird, a bowl of peaches, and a sailing ship on the water behind.

The gowns are dense with pattern, which helps, though the roses banked along both edges all run to the same soft pink. Finished size 51 x 68cm.
