Bruegel puts more than a hundred Flemish proverbs into one village and leaves you to find them. There is a man banging his head against a brick wall, another casting roses before swine, a wife fitting her husband with a blue cloak, and somebody up on the roof armed with a pie. Not one of them is labelled.
Three thousand pieces of Flemish ochre and brick red with something going on in every square inch. Finished size 116 x 85cm.
Three thousand pieces of small scenes in one narrow earth palette with figures at every scale.
