A hand-pieced hexagon quilt, photographed close enough to show the stitching: concentric rings of six-pointed stars and tumbling blocks built from hundreds of tiny printed hexagons in pink, cornflower blue, mustard, lilac and mint, framed by red and green sashing on cream.
The geometry is the way in — the stars and the red bands give real structure — but the printed hexagons repeat endlessly, so the last few hundred pieces come down to matching pattern rather than colour. Finished size 63.5 x 50.8cm.
Highly repetitive geometric patterns with similar colour blocks and symmetrical design make piece placement extremely difficult.
