Saturday morning at the ironmonger's and every inch of it is full. Two shopkeepers are working the long counter (one weighing an order out on the brass scales, the other spreading a roll of something across for a customer) while the ladies wait their turn in their good coats and a mother and daughter pick through the packets by the door.
The collie sits up beautifully to be admired, a boy has claimed the wheelbarrow, and there are kittens in the tin bath!
