One island carrying the whole world: the Taj Mahal and the Colosseum at the front, the Statue of Liberty standing on the Golden Gate Bridge, pyramids and the Sphinx, Mount Fuji with its red torii, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben and the Brandenburg Gate, Sagrada Família, the Great Wall, Stonehenge, Uluru and the Sydney Opera House — all in thick black outlines and poster colour, under a swirling moon on one side and a blazing sun on the other.
Every landmark is a small puzzle in itself, which helps. The blue sea that rings them runs to hundreds of near-identical pieces broken only by tiny red-sailed boats. Finished size 121 x 80cm.
Three thousand pieces, and roughly a third of the board is flat blue water with almost no variation.
