The tide is in at Padstow and the fishing boats are all tied up along the quay, the Success sitting red and heavy in the foreground with her reflection wobbling underneath her. Behind them the old stone and brick houses run right down to the water, with a red telephone box standing outside the Old Custom House.
People are out along the quayside in the afternoon sun, gulls are circling the masts, and the whole harbour is lying still enough to hold the picture twice over.
Detailed harbour scene with reflections in still water and similarly-toned buildings requiring careful attention.
Traditional fishing harbour with moored boats and stone buildings
