Marc believed animals saw the world more honestly than people did, and he painted them accordingly. His foxes here are broken into red and orange planes that fold in and out of the blue and green behind them, so it takes a moment to find the two heads, the pointed ears and the white of a chest turning away.
Hard-edged facets of strong colour throughout, which sort more easily than they look. Finished size 48 x 69cm.
