Two fishermen are working the low-tide harbour at Robin Hood's Bay — one hauling a catch, another watching from the quayside in a yellow oilskin. Lobster pots, rope, buoys and old wooden crates are scattered across the foreground, while a red-hulled fishing boat sits grounded on the wet sand alongside a smaller blue dinghy. Behind them, the tight rows of stone and whitewashed cottages climb the hillside in the way that makes this North Yorkshire village so recognisable.
Dominic Davison has packed the scene with texture — rough sandstone, peeling paint, rusting life rings, seagulls wheeling overhead. There is a lot going on, which makes the sorting genuinely satisfying rather than frustrating. The sky is relatively open and blue, so it builds quickly, but the mid-ground of boats and harbour walls will keep you busy for a while.

The scene contains densely packed stone buildings with similar tones, intricate foreground clutter of ropes, nets, pots and wooden crates, and a busy mid-ground of boats with subtle colour transitions throughout.
