The sky over Prague has gone pink and lilac, the Charles Bridge is lying dark across the Vltava, and the Old Town bridge tower stands up over it all with one window already lit. A river boat slides past the arches, throwing a long white reflection.
Down in the foreground four swans have come in close to the bank, taking no notice of the boat or the bridge or the evening. Somebody, surely, has been feeding them.
