Egypt laid out as one long frieze, running from the temple columns of Luxor on the left through a row of seated pharaohs to the Sphinx and the pyramids at the right-hand end. The stone is every shade of sand and ochre, hieroglyphs are cut into the columns, and the whole thing sits under a pale flat sky.
Sand and ochre stone the entire way across in a very narrow range. Finished size 98 x 34cm.
The whole picture sits in one band of sand and ochre with a plain sky above it.
