There's something genuinely magical about this one. Imagine pitching up on a sandy shoreline — campfire crackling, kayak pulled up on the beach, a cosy campervan parked nearby — and then looking up to find the most spectacular sky you've ever seen. Not just stars, but enormous, vivid planets hanging low over the horizon: Jupiter's rust-red bands, Saturn's rings, and others glowing against a sky that shifts from deep starry blue to the most extraordinary pink and amber sunset you could dream up.
The figure perched on top of the campervan with a telescope pointed at the heavens really captures it — that feeling of being somewhere peaceful and remote, with the whole universe putting on a show just for you. It's a proper adventure scene wrapped up in one gorgeous illustration.
With a good mix of detailed foreground elements — trees, water reflections, the camp setup — and that sweeping cosmic sky, this is a satisfying build from start to finish. 500 pieces, so it's a lovely evening or weekend project, and the finished image is absolutely worth keeping out on display.
Finished size: 49 x 36cm. Printed on Ravensburger's signature anti-glare linen-finish card.
The image balances a detailed foreground of trees, water, and campsite elements with a richly coloured but varied sky full of distinct planets, providing helpful anchor points throughout but with some tricky mid-tone foliage and gradient sky sections.
