Every birdhouse in this image is a different shape, colour, and character — a pink teardrop feeder, a cobalt blue chalet with scrollwork, a crooked red barn, a thatched-roof cottage. Janice Daughters has packed the scene with garden birds going about their business: a robin sitting tight on a nest tucked into a birdhouse doorway, a goldfinch on a branch, blue tits, sparrows, and a wren or two scattered through the magnolia blossom and daisies.
The composition is a collage-style arrangement with no single focal point, which makes it a proper challenge to build. The background shifts between lilac, green, and warm ochre tones, and there are clusters of similar pink flowers and foliage that will keep you guessing. Piece count is 1000, and the Falcon de Luxe board quality is solid throughout. The box notes this is part of their 50-year anniversary range — "Crafted with excellence for 50 years".
Good one for garden bird fans, and the bright mix of colours makes sorting by birdhouse a reasonable strategy.
The collage layout has no single focal point, and large areas of similar pink blossom, purple foliage, and overlapping warm-toned timber on the birdhouses create many tricky sections with subtle colour transitions.
