Two puzzles in one box, each telling a different chapter of Dennis the Menace's story. The first recreates a classic early Beano comic cover — black and white strip art, Dennis mid-mischief with Gnasher at his heels, that familiar red masthead bold across the top. The second jumps forward to full-colour comic strip panels crammed with action, tomatoes, and the sort of chaos only Beano can deliver.
The box marks 75 years of Dennis the Menace, and the two puzzles together make a decent side-by-side comparison of the strip's art across the decades. The vintage puzzle is the more straightforward build thanks to its limited palette; the modern colour one is considerably busier. Both are 500 pieces, so neither is an all-day commitment on its own — though doing them back to back is a reasonable evening's work.
Good one for anyone who grew up with the Beano, or for introducing younger puzzlers to the comic via something a bit more hands-on than just reading it.
The vintage puzzle has a limited black-and-white palette making it easier to sort, while the modern full-colour comic strip puzzle is packed with small figures and busy panel layouts that offer a moderate challenge.
